In-house vs outsourced IDR, and where an evidence engine fits

The build-vs-buy question in IDR is really a control-and-defensibility question. A readiness layer is orthogonal to it.

Two models, one shared risk

Some provider groups run IDR in-house; many use complex-claims RCM firms that treat IDR as one line in a broader recovery suite. Both models carry the same underlying risk: an ineligible or mis-batched filing wastes non-refundable fees and reviewer time, and a thin record is hard to defend when a payer challenges eligibility.

Where a readiness engine sits

A pre-filing readiness and evidence-integrity layer supports either model. In-house teams use it to standardize discipline; outsourced teams and platforms use it to show clients a consistent, defensible record. It does not replace the filer or the reviewer, it makes their decisions defensible.

The boundary is the point

Logic Refinery IDR-A does not file disputes or decide eligibility. That is deliberate: it keeps the tool compatible with both in-house and outsourced operations.
